Description

 

The Course is offered for (11) weeks from March 19 - June 4.  Classes are held each Wednesday at Kelley on each of the following Wednesdays:

  • Full Semester - 3/19, 3/26, 4/2, 4/9, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14, 5/21, 5/28, 6/4
  • No Classes are held on 4/16 due to Spring Break

 

Enrollment for this program is limited to 16 students only. 

Registration period

Registration for this schedule starts on 01/29/2025 and ends on 03/24/2025

Restrictions

Participants must be entering grades kindergarten to 5.

Special Connection to LEGO Masters on FOX

For those that may not know, NextGen SmartyPants' Founder, Paras Patani (aka Mr. LEGO), was selected out of 25,000 applicants to be on the primetime hit TV Show "LEGO Masters" on FOX. This course is designed as a result of Mr. LEGO's experience of being on the show. Find episodes of LEGO Masters with Will Arnet on Hulu, Amazon Prime, YouTube TV, and more.... watch it with your kiddos and enjoy!

Course Description

Calling all LEGO® fans!! To the BatCave... or Lair, or Hideout, or... you decide!

  • Unleash your creativity
  • Solve scenarios and intriguing situational challenges
  • Learn super-cool LEGO® building and construction techniques
  • Apply color theory, symmetry, and story-telling techniques

...all while having a blast with your friends as you work together to build vast fantasy worlds using more than 30,000 LEGO® bricks!

  • Where will your SuperHero live?
  • What super-powers will they have and how will you show that using LEGO®?
  • Or, is yours a Super-Villain that creates trouble for SuperHeroes?

The choices are yours in this super-fun course in LEGO and artistic design!


Connection to STEAM Education

In LEGO® Superheroes, Students are exposed to the "A" in S.T.E.A.M. "STEAM" stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.

During this course, Students learn how to design their own builds using LEGO® as their artistic medium. Using the theme of SuperHeroes as their context, Students learn and implement concepts like symmetry, scale, structure, and color to make beautiful LEGO® Art of their own design. Students learn how to tell a story with LEGO® as their create scenes, buildings, spaceships, layouts, symbols, and more!

Waitlist

If the course is full, please join the Waitlist.  We use the Waitlist to gauge interest in our programs and, if necessary, add additional classes or run the program again next Semester.  There is no charge to be on the Waitlist; but if for some reason we are not able to accommodate everyone, you will, of course, receive a full refund. 

Refund Policy

If your Student tries and really doesn't our programs, just let us know after the first class and we will refund you completely.  This will allow us to offer the program to other families on the Waitlist.

Payment Plan
For those who prefer it, a Payment Plan is offered at check-out on the following screen.  This plan is optional and is administered by an outside company that charges a nominal fee.
