Description

NextGen SmartyPants' Spring-2025 Semester runs for 9-weeks from 3/31-6/9 @ 3:20PM-4:30PM.  Classes are held in the Library each Monday for an hour beginning immediately after-school at Morley Elementary School. 

Class dates are: 

  • 3/31, 4/7, 4/21, 4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19, 6/2, 6/9
  • No Classes are held on 4/14 and 5/26

 

Enrollment for this course is limited to 14-students only.  If this class is over-enrolled, please join the Wait List.  We use your interest to adjust capacity, forecast demand, and add additional courses for your Students.  Thank you.

Restrictions

Participants must be entering grades kindergarten to 5.

Description

Course Description:

Have fun creating robotic siege-weapons and go into battle with your friends!  Inspired by the hit show “Battlebots,” BattleBot Robotics teaches students how to integrate sensors, gears, pulleys, and code while they try to blow each other up to smithereens!  Students build a different siege weapons each week, including robotic Catapults, Crossbows, Battle-axes, and more, while learning how to apply Engineering concepts and their Math skills in a fun and engaging way.  Teams divide up to toss (safe) projectiles in the ultimate battle royale!  Super-fun!

 

Additional Info for Parents:

From previous experience, we know that some Students (girls, in particular) may not enjoy the competition aspect of BattleBots.  In these cases, our Teacher will substitute their lesson for a more collaborative scenario such that all Students are engaged, learning about robotics, and enjoying the program.  Please contact us at (860) 272-4000, at any time, if we may accommodate your Student's needs.

Waitlist

If registration for this course is full, please join the WaitList.  If there is enough interest, we will do our best to put together an additional program and will reach out to families on the WaitList.

Refund Policy

If your Student tries it and really doesn't our program, just let us know after the first class and we will refund you completely.  This will allow us to offer the program to other families on the Waitlist.  There are no refunds after the first class.

Payment Plan
A Payment Plan is offered at check-out on the following screen.  This plan is optional and is administered by an outside company that charges a nominal fee.
