The Class is offered for one session on Thursday, May 8, 2025 as a special event for the Girl Scouts at Morley Elementary School.
The expenses for this program are being split 50/50 with the Girl Scouts and the Parents of each scout.
Enrollment required for this program is a minimum of 12 students and limited to a maximum of 16 students.
Registration for this schedule starts on 04/10/2025 and ends on 05/08/2025
Participants must be entering grades kindergarten to 5.
Course Description
Lions and Tigers and Bears... Oh my!
In Amazing Animals Robotics, students create their own robotic animals. Build them; code them; and then make them RRROOOAARR!!! Students have fun and learn about engineering, coding, circuits, and sensors as they build Dinosaurs, Dolphins, Preying Mantises, and much more.
Teams use LEGO bricks, gears, and pulleys as they learn Engineering concepts. Students add electrical motors, circuits, and sensors and Code their robots to make them move and react to its environment autonomously. Students learn how to apply their grade level skills in arithmetic, ratios, as well as introductory concepts in force, motion, and simple machines. Students are sure to have a wild time as they build, learn, and play!
Skill Level Adjustments:
If your daughter has already taken NextGen SmartyPants' Amazing Animals Robotics course before, during this special session, they will receive a more advanced class commensurate with their skillset.
Girl Scouts Robotics Badge
All scouts that complete this program will have achieved their requirements for the following Girl Scouts Robotics Merit Badge
