Course Description
Scratch is a super-fun way to introduce Students to the wonders of Coding! Drag, Drop, Click… you’ll be amazed at what they can do! NextGen SmartyPants's curriculum keeps things fresh and introduces new and cool ways to practice, create, and design code with Scratch.
Registration Details
Beginner Coding is offered for (11) Mondays from 10/6 to 12/22.The course is arranged into (2) halves. The first-half of the semester is held for 6-weeks, and the second-half of the semester is held for 5-weeks. Families are welcome to register their child for one or both halves. Teachers adjusted the curriculum to each Student's experience and abilities regardless of the program..

Course Description
Beginner Coding with Scratch® (Grades 6-8)
NextGen SmartyPants teaches Beginner Coding using the Scratch Graphical Programming Language across four increasingly challenging levels:
Teachers assess Student skills and any previous Coding experience, and then adjust the curriculum provided to each child accordingly. If your
child has taken Coding with Scratch before, they will be taught at a higher level of the Coding curriculum to ensure that they are learning new material, challenged at their skill level, and gaining
practice in their Coding skills.
Maximum enrollment for this program is limited to 16-Students only.

Wait-List
If the course is full, please join the Wait-List. We use the Wait-List to gauge interest in the program. If there is enough interest, we will work with the school to add an additional class or re-run the program next semester.
Expectations
The safety of our Students is our highest priority.
All Students are expected to behave respectfully toward their Teacher and their fellow Students at all times. Physical violence, foul language, bullying, stealing or throwing of NextGen SmartyPants equipment, or other disrespectful behaviors are strictly prohibited and will be grounds for dismissal from our program without refund.
Student attendance is taken during check-in and check-out during our class each week. Parents, if you are anticipating your child to be absent from our class. please notify your child's school administrator, their Teacher at school, and their NextGen SmartyPants Teacher. A missing child is a terrifying experience for anyone. Your assistance with this helps us account for the whereabouts for each child. Thank you, in advance.
Refund Policy
If your child tries our program and really doesn't like it, just let us know after the first class and we will refund you completely. This will allow us to offer the program to other families on the Wait-List. Refunds are not offered after the first week of our program.
Payment Plan
For those who prefer it, a Payment Plan is offered at check-out on the following screen. This plan is optional and is administered by an outside company that charges a nominal fee.
