Beginner Engineers is offered for (8) weeks from April 19 to June 7. Classes are held each Friday after school at Bugbee Elementary School on the following dates:
Enrollment for this program is limited to 14 students only. If registration is full, please join our Waitlist, so we may contact you if a spot becomes available or if we can add another class session. There is no charge to be on the Waitlist. Payments are processed only upon actual registration of your Student to the program.

LEGO® Beginner Engineers for Grades 2-5
LEGO® Beginner Engineers teaches Students basic Engineering concepts by building super-cool, hands-on projects that seem like magic! Students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they learn about Energy, Heat, Light, and Mechanisms and how they are used in products they experience everyday. Students see their mechanisms move without Motors and learn how energy is converted as they build fun LEGO®-based projects like Wind-Turbines, Solar-Powered Cars, Pneumatics, and much more!

NextGen SmartyPants' central mission is to provide Students a way to apply the Math skills they learn in school in a fun and engaging way. In-School learning teaches them arithmetic, Beginner Engineers teaches them how to apply those Math skills to real-world applications
Students in each grade level are provided opportunities to apply Math skills according to the West Hartford Public Schools Curriculum Maps associated with their grade. In addition, Beginner Engineers for Grades 2-5 is technically two courses taught together - one for Grades 2-3, the other for Grades 4-5:

If the course is full, please join the Waitlist. There is no charge to be on the Waitlist.
Refund Policy
If your Student tries our program and feels that it is just not for them, let us know after the first class and we will refund you completely. This will allow us to offer the remaining weeks of the program to Families on the Waitlist.
Payment Plan
For those who prefer it, a Payment Plan is offered at check-out on the following screen. This plan is optional and is administered by an outside company that charges a nominal fee.
