Description

Course Description

Scratch is a super-fun way to introduce your child to the wonders of Coding!  Drag, Drop, Click… you’ll be amazed at what they can do!  NextGen's curriculum keeps things fresh and introduces kids to new and cool ways to practice, create, and design code with Scratch.

Junior Coding with Scratch® Junior (Grades K-2)

NextGen SmartyPants teaches Junior Coding using the Scratch Junior Graphical Programming Language across four increasingly challenging levels:

  • Level 1 - Introduction to Coding Concepts
  • Level 2 - Cartoon Animation and Storytelling
  • Level 3 - Playground Games We Play
  • Level 4 - Designing Our Own Video Games

Students do not need to choose a level prior to enrollment: NextGen Teachers assess experiences, group students accordingly into project teams, and adjust lessons to fit each Student individually.  Each Level contains 12-15 weeks of lessons.  Students are encouraged to re-enroll in Junior Coding during future classes or camps in order to gain proficiency in Coding by progressing through each of these levels.  NextGen Teachers adjust the content and curriculum so that each Student can pick up where they left off

Refund Policy

If your Student tries and really doesn't our programs, just let us know after the first class and we will refund you completely.  This will allow us to offer the program to other families on the Waitlist.
