Course Description
Master the basics of text-based coding with Python in this beginner-friendly course!
Dive into the world of Python with this comprehensive course designed for students with beginner- and intermediate-level experience. You’ll start with the fundamentals, including data types, variables, and control structures, then progress to more advanced topics like functions, modules, file handling, control structures and more. NextGen SmartyPants' focus on hands-on project-based learning ensures you'll learn Python by applying it to real-world projects. This equips you with the skills to write efficient Python code, automate tasks, and build a strong foundation for future programming challenges. And you will gain experience in applying Python to contexts like Robotics, Circuits, and more.
Additional information for parents:
In this introductory Python Coding course, Students are grouped by grade and receive lessons appropriate for their grade level. Students in Grades 4 are required to have had a foundation in Coding with the Scratch Graphical Programming Language prior to taking this course. Students in Grades 5 and 6 are also recommended to have had this background, as well.
If possible, Students are recommended to register for the 2-hour program, as this will give them more time to develop their projects in greater depth.
Waitlist
If the course is full, please join the Waitlist. We use the Waitlist to gauge interest in our programs and, if necessary, add additional classes or run the program again next Semester. There is no charge to be on the Waitlist; but if for some reason we are not able to accommodate everyone, you will, of course, receive a full refund.
Refund Policy
If your Student tries and really doesn't our programs, just let us know after the first class and we will refund you completely. This will allow us to offer the program to other families on the Waitlist.
