NextGen SmartyPants' Spring Semester runs for 12-weeks from 3/28-6/13. Each week is a different lesson! Classes are held each Tuesday In-Person at our Canton Studio at The Shops at Farmington Valley in Canton.
Classes each week have the following enrollment options:
One lesson is taught each week. Our core lessons are designed to be taught in 1-hour.
Many families have requested more time and longer classes for their children, so we have added a 2-hour option. Similar to a "lab," the second hour of our 4:30-6:30 PM classes provides students time to solidify learning, explore technologies, modify their projects, and create larger, more-complex solutions to problems.
Admission to our program is ongoing on a rolling basis, so kids can jump-in, join their friends, and begin learning with us anytime! Programs are automatically pro-rated and educational content is adjusted to support each child.
Participants must be 4 years or older when the program starts..

Lights, Camera, and... Action!
In Playtime Movie Magic, children have fun playing dress-up and act-out scenes in a movie. The class selects a movie plot from one of a number of themes available and the NextGen Teacher acts as their Director. Will we shoot a Spy Movie, a News Report, Sit-Com, Movie Trailer, or something else entirely?! Kids are guided to put on costumes, create and remember lines, and act out scenes in front of a Green Screen. Older students in our Beginner iMovie class then learn editing techniques using the iMovie platform, upload soundtracks, bring in images and video content, and work together to create a movie. At the end of the program, all students receive a copy of the movie to share with friends and family!
So let's get up to hair, make-up, and wardrobe and get this production started!
