Description

Registration for this course is available with the following options:

  • Full-Semester for 12-weeks, First-Half for 6-weeks, Second-Half for 6-weeks
  • 2-hour classes each week, or 1-hour classes each week

All NextGen SmartyPants Junior & Beginner-Level lessons are designed to be completed in about an hour and most families will choose the 12-weeks @ 1-hour each week class option.  From experience, many children love our programs and want to continue to stay for another hour, so we are providing these additional registration options for you.

For Coding, this second hour is most often spent improving, refining, and expanding their code beyond the minimum.  Coding takes time and practice a ton of advanced learning happens during this second hour!  However, in order to stay with the progress of the rest of the class, a new lesson will not be started during this second hour.

Enrollment is ongoing on a rolling basis, so new kids can join in on the fun at any time!  Registrations are automatically prorated and Teachers will adjust educational content for your child.

NextGen SmartyPants offers Junior Coding with Scratch Junior across (4) 12-session courses:

  1. Intro to Scratch Junior
  2. Cartoon Animation

  4. Junior Game Design

Students are enrolled in the appropriate program level based on their previous experience. All children new to Scratch Junior receive the Intro to Scratch Junior curriculum.  Students having previously enrolled in Scratch Junior with NextGen SmartyPants are placed in one of the other three listed, depending on which course(s) they have taken previously.  Kids are grouped together based on grade-level, experience, and interests so that they can learn, interact and play!
