Description

Robotics at the Grocery Store?!  Yup... from the automatic door that welcomes customers, to the inventory management system, and to the checkout counter, robotics are all around us, even at the grocery store!  Intermediate Robotics: Grocery Store Robotics helps students see how the technologies they have been learning with NextGen SmartyPants apply to their everyday lives.  In this course, students that have previously taken our courses in Beginner Robotics and Beginner Coding, bring these technologies together to create simplified versions of practical robotics systems that are used in a retail environment.

Requirements:

Grocery Store Robotics uses the LEGO Spike Prime Robotics System.  This system integrates the Robotics that our students have experienced at the Beginner Level with the Scratch graphical programming language they experienced in our Beginner Coding classes.  Therefore, these are required as prerequisites to take this course.  In addition, students must be at least 10-years of age, as the minimum math skills they will apply in this course will require them to use what they have learned at the 4th or 5th-grade level.

** Previous experience in our courses in Beginner Engineers and Beginner Circuits is also highly recommended, as these will enable your child to apply the gearing mechanisms and basic electronics gained from these courses.  If your child has not yet taken these courses prior to enrolling in Grocery Store Robotics, that's OK; but it is certainly recommended they do so if they. plan on continuing to enroll in our Intermediate programs.

As always, we are here to discuss, so please drop us a line if we can help... [email protected] or (860) 272-4000..
